My mom made this for me a few years ago out of a dish towel. We use it all the time, but I only have one.
Are you seeing where this is leading? Here is a simple NO SEW tutorial to turn old t-shirts into a great cloth protector. (my 5 year old still uses this when he has nice cloths on so he HATES when we call it a bib:) All you need are some old adult size t-shirts and scissors.
Lay the t-shirt out as flat as possible. The cut all the way up the sides and through the sleeve.
Open it up. I used our "bib" as a guide, but if you don't have one, you can use a hand towel instead.
Just make sure that there is 5 inches from where the collar is attached to shirt to bottom of towel.

If there is a tag make sure to cut it out.
Cut out the shape and you are DONE!!! Tomorrow I will be showing 2 simple variations you can do to these bibs.

You've got to go check out this cute blog I just found http://www.thestoriesofa2z.com/ This t-shirt idea is great. I need some bigger bibs. I also found a blog the other day that cut up old t-shirts and then re sewed them. I will have to send that link to you sometime.

This is brilliant!
ReplyDeleteThe last shirt you used - Good luck you'll need it is in our goodwill pile too! that's too funny. Great idea! I think I need one on spaghetti night!

Brilliant idea! It's so simple and I love how you get to use the back of the t-shirt which will probably have less wear/little holes than the front. Looking forward the next instalment!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute idea! Great way to reuse those old t-shirts we're too afraid to throw out!
ReplyDeleteWhat a neat idea.. I'm going to have to find all my old t-shirts :)

what a great idea
ReplyDeleteThis is a great idea. I have a ton of old shirts I've been trying to figure out how to re-use. Since our little girl isn't due to be born for another 7 weeks I think I'll back these with flannel or fleece to help make them more absorbent.
ReplyDeleteThis is great!
ReplyDeleteI tell my kids that even grownups wear bibs when they're eating very messy foods - especially if they're in nice clothes. ("Lobster bibs" at nice restaurants)
