I bought this chocolate cardigan in the clearance section at Gap! I have been wanting one for a long time. Well, something about it reminded me of my grandma and I was NOT excited to wear it. So, I took matters into my own hands and turned it into a delightful updated cardigan.
I made some flowers from satin, small pearl beads, and tulle.
I hot glued them to pins.
Here is a view of it. I think it turned out perfect for my taste:)

Oh So Sassy
My friend, Michelle, from Oh So Sassy sales some really great patterns. They are easy to make and look adorable on. Check her out HERE.
These are 2 of the awesome dresses I made for my little missy from Michelle's pattern. Looks pretty cute (speaking of my little missy she REFUSED to let me take any pictures of her in her dresses. She cried the whole time, so I gave up. DRAT! So, I used a glamorous hanger instead:)
Michelle had a dress making party for friends when she came into town for a visit. We picked out the fabric we wanted and she cut it out for us. All we had to do was sew it together. LOVE it! BUT after taking the picture, I am going to be taking out the brown thread and using an orange. What was I thinking!?!
You can either buy the fabric pre-cut and just sew it together or buy the pattern and use your own fabric. I have this pre-cute dress, but I have been toolazy busy to make it:)
Here are a few of my favorites:) She has soooooo much to choose from, but here are few to wet your taste buds. I also think she could be a photographer. Can you believe she took these photos herself!?!

Check her out and tell her Therapeutic Crafting sent you:) She has graciously agreed to give my readers 10% off their first 2 purchases! YEAH! Check her etsy shop out at Ohsosassy. You won't regret it;)

Kitchen Update Continues
Our kitchen transformation continues:) Hubby FINALLY had a weekend off to help me change the hinges. In case you were wondering, he was not happy about it. He thought we should have just left the old ones in. BUT they didn't match. So, we had to drill new holes and make sure the doors hung evenly. I frequently heard him grumble "I hate this project." The farther along we got, the louder that comment got:) Thanks for your help hubby! I love you!
Here they are before:

Pillow Fight
I whipped up these pillows this afternoon.
This material has a sheen to it, so it is reflecting the flash in it. Sorry. I am not great at photography and I couldn't figure out how to fix it.
I think I need to add some trim on 2 of the edges of the striped pillow.

Ties
A good friend of mine came over and we made the little men our lives a tie:) Yes Becca, it can be done for less than $8.
We used THIS pattern from Very Home Made. I found some great fabric that looked like a blue tie you would buy on sale at Joann's for $3 a yard. I used some fabric for the lining that was left over from a blanket I made. It was easy and they turned out really cute! Here we are modeling our adorable ties.
P.S. it was a no shower, throw your hair in a bun type of day for us so be kind:)

Around the House
This is a random post, but one I think you will find quite interesting. It's home remedies around the house!
For a natural teeth whitening, rub orange pills on your teeth (the white side on your teeth). Then after you are finished whitening your teeth, grind them up in your garbage disposal for a fresher smell:)
For build up in your hair, usually caused from hair products, use a teaspoon of baking soda and mix it into your shampoo. Scrub into your hair and it will remove all the build up.
For a closer, softer shave. Try using vegetable oil or something similar. It will lubricate your legs too so no need to lotion afterward! Plus, it gives you a closer shave than shaving cream because it doesn't buildup in your shaver.

To save the clear protective coat on your tile and grout, use vinegar to scrub your floors. Most cleaners will damage and remove the clear protective coat on your tile and grout so you should not use them. Vinegar is a safe and effective way to clean your floors. If you need the 'clean' smell just fill your sink full of hot water and pour a little Pine Sol into the water. Let it sit while you clean your floors. It will clean your sink and leave your house smelling fresh, BUT won't ruin your finish on the floors.

READ THIS
I am not sure how many medical student's wives read my craft blog. I just want to tell all of them to read this book. I seriously love it and it will help you REALLY understand what your hubby will go through during residency. I have a copy for anyone who wants to borrow it.

Car Seat Cover
Remember THIS post!?! Well, I finally gave the blanket to my friend, so I can show you how cute it turned out! My sister in law is using my infant car seat, so I don't have one to model the blanket with:)
Here it is! I used a fancy stitch from my sewing machine to top stitch all the way around the blanket. It looks really cute. I tried to take a photo, but it doesn't show up. Sorry.
Here is a close up of the handels! I added a button for some character.

Garbage Disposal
Our garbage disposal switch use to be in a TERRIBLE location. It was low on the side of the cabinet where my kids could turn it on and off at their pleasure. Including my 21 month old daughter who thought it was great fun to hear the noise. So, when hubby's best friend, Port, came into town we put him straight to work. Port is almost done with school to become an electrician.
Here they are hard at work
Here is Port's little helper and my best buddy!
A plate to cover the old switch
Our new switch is underneath the sink. Much safer for little hands:) Especially when their is a child's lock on it.

Step Up
So, I love "One Pretty Thing". She had a feature of THIS amazing step stool cover made by Dainty Couture.
Here is my version. This project completed the decor for my guest bathroom! YIPPEE!
I wanted mine removable so I could wash it so I left off the buttons and batting.
Here is my little woman modeling it for you;
A vase of flowers...
The tray make over can be found HERE.
Red shower hooks...
Here it is all put together.
Here is the other side that I didn't get in the picture above. The mirror make over is HERE.

I don't think I ever posted these. I used a tray and place-mat to make those. I just cut the mat down and hot glued it into the tray. I got the candle holders 75% off at Pier One.
Here it is all put together.
