Summer Dresses

Before I left on vacation, I made dresses for all my nieces. Here is what those adorable little women look like in their new dresses!

There is a contrasting color that goes around the bottom (same color as the collar) but I made the dresses too big so now they get to grow into them:)

I have 2 more dresses to show you, but I have to wait for my sisters to take pics of their daughters for  me.

I'm Still Here

Yes, I know my posts have been sporadic, but I am getting my home in a little more order and it takes time when you have 2 kiddos to chase after. BUT, my 2 year old is potty training herself. She has gone both #1 and #2 on the toilet this week. She tells us when she wants to sit on the toilet, sometimes she will go and sometimes she won't. The only thing I have done is make the toilet available for her when ever she feels like she needs to sit on it:)
Now, here is the nitty gritty, I will be posting a lot less until I get my home organized. I need order in my life to help with stress. It is no secrete that I have struggled with depression (I am pretty sure I can no longer call it post partum depression now that my daughter is 2). Having clutter and being unorganized is wearing on me. So PLEASE be patient with me. This is something I really must do for myself and my family. Thanks for understanding.

Happy 4th of July

Yes, I am like a month too late, but what ever. I just found my decorations when I was organizing and realized I never showed you my cute decorations I made this year.

I found this great wooden tray on clearance at Target. I just mod podged striped paper and then some blue paper with stars in the corner to look like a flag.

Real Deals was going out of business and I found this star for $2. I mod podged some paper on it.

The red candle sticks are from Ikea. I wanted white candles, but I never got around to buying some;)

All together, my mantel looked like this for the 4th. Although, I wasn't here to enjoy it.

Priorities

I have been trying to figure out my priorities. A few things have struck me. I REALLY need to organize my house. We have lived here for almost a year and I still have not completely unpacked. We have an entire room filled with boxes screaming to be unpacked. So, here is the down low. I need to de-junk, de-clutter, and organize. So, I will give you before and after pictures, but right now i am trying to get myself a little more organized!

Reversable Nursing Cover

I didn't take a photo tutorial, but they are everywhere on the internet. I did a little different one. So, I will give you the measurements and you can take it from there;)

You need:
2 coordinating fabrics. 1 yard each.
2   1" D rings
13" boning (can find at any fabric store)
matching thread

Cut out the follow pieces:

24 X 38 inch rectangle from both fabrics. (body of cover)
6 X 38 inch rectangle from both fabrics. (contrasting color on the bottom)
4 1/2 X 27 inch (neck strap)
5 X 5 inch (attach D rings)

Sew the contrasting  color to the bottom of each body. Sew your straps and add D rings to the 5 X 5

Mark the center and measure 6 1/2" on both sides of center. Place your neck straps just outside of the 6 1/2 inches. Making sure they are facing towards the middle of the cover. RST sew just the top of the body covers together. Take a very large seam allowance. Put the boning into the seam allowance on. Sew closed. Secure ends of boning so it won't be able to move. Finish sewing the entire cover making sure to leave an opening for turning. Turn right side out and top stitch.

That's it. There is your reversible cover. If you need more clarity on parts, you can check out a tutorial HERE. Mine is a little differently done because I made mine reversible. You can also ask me on the parts that you get stuck.

I'm BACK!

Hey guys! I am home again! I would have to say that the trip was fabulous and completely relaxing. I didn't even realize how much I needed it;) I didn't even miss crafting every day like I thought I would. I spent all the time outside, playing with my kids, and hangin' with my sisters and mom. So, I have a few things I have been thinking about, but I need more time to get it all together. So, for now, I will just tell you. I am back, BUT I will still be a bit invisible as I get things together.
Just wanted to let you know I need more time

(If you are wondering, this SaWeet clock is from Target.) Thanks for understanding and being so patient. You guys are the best.

Rocket Pops

I found this recipe HERE.

What you need:
1 pkg. (4-serving size) JELL-O Cherry Flavor Gelatin
1 cup sugar, divided
2 cups boiling water, divided
ice cubes
2 cups cold water, divided
1 pkg. (4-serving size) JELL-O Berry Blue Flavor Gelatin
1 tub (8 oz.) COOL WHIP Whipped Topping, thawed

Make It!

COMBINE dry cherry gelatin mix and 1/2 cup of the sugar in medium bowl. Add 1 cup of the boiling water; stir at least 2 min. until gelatin is completely dissolved. Add enough ice cubes to 1 cup of the cold water to measure 2 cups. Add to gelatin; stir until ice is completely melted. Pour evenly into 16 (5-oz.) paper or plastic cups, adding about 1/4 cup of the gelatin to each cup. Freeze 1 hour.
MEANWHILE, combine dry blue gelatin mix and remaining 1/2 cup sugar in medium bowl. Add remaining 1 cup boiling water; stir at least 2 min. until gelatin is completely dissolved. Add enough ice cubes to remaining 1 cup cold water to measure 2 cups. Add to gelatin; stir until ice is completely melted. Refrigerate 1 hour.
SPOON about 3 Tbsp. of the whipped topping over red gelatin in each cup; top evenly with blue gelatin, adding about 1/4 cup of the gelatin to each cup. Freeze 1 hour or until almost firm. Insert wooden pop stick or plastic spoon into center of each cup for handle. Freeze an additional 4 hours or overnight. To remove pops from cups, place bottoms of cups under warm running water for 15 sec. Press firmly on bottoms of cups to release pops. (Do not twist or pull pop sticks.) Store leftover pops in freezer.

Enjoy!
