Flower Clip Tutorial

Today, at midnight AZ time, is the very last day to enter for the reversible apron giveaway. More info HERE.

Now, I know you have been anxiously awaiting this promised tutorial, j/k but I finally did it;)

I used this same idea for THESE matching flower clips.

You will need scissors, gem, buttons, or beads for the middle, hair clip, and fabric. I used 2 matching colors for this tutorial, but you can do it all one color like I did HERE, I also burned the edges on this one with a candle.

You can also do multi-colors. Just have fun and be creative. These are a snap and can be finished in minutes. Let's get started.

Cut out 4 circles, each getting progressively smaller. They don't have to be perfect, in fact, I think the less perfect they are the better. (You can do more circles, to give the flower more volume).

Stack the circle on top of each other.

Fold all the stacked circles in half

Make a small stitch. I used my sewing machine on the button-stitch you can use zig-zag, but remember to lower the dogs.

Unfold and fold in half the other direction.

Make a small stitch just like the one previously done.  When I opened the flower, it was more ruffled on one side.

So, I made another stitch just below it to even the flower out more.

Next, add the gem in the middle. You can hot glue it on or hand stitch it on. I used a button gem so I hand stitched it into place.

Glue the clip on the back.

Then put it in your hair or your lil' woman's hair and enjoy your handy work!

For those of you who want to make a bean bag, but don't live near me. You can find the free pattern HERE. I altered the top though. Click on the pentagon and print it off. I used this as the top and bottom of the bean bag. I liked it better than the tiny circle.
