Double sided Super Hero Cape

My sister has this adorable double sided super hero cape. I will be doing a tutorial on how to make one for your little man later this week! Just wanted to give you some time to get fabric.

You will need:

3/4 yard of red fabric
3/4 yard blue fabric
1/4 yard yellow fabric
You can get some scrap black fabric our you can make a stencil and paint it. It's your choice. I will be painting mine because that seems easiest to me.

Superman on one side

batman on the other!

Make and Mingle

I am soooooo excited for this month's project. I found a huge desk that was broken on bulk trash day, so we get free wood for this project! YEAH!

The sign says your last name with 'families are forever' over the top. Then you can hang photos on the bottom.

Cost: For everything INCLUDING Rod is $15

If you want to make on with just one layer of vinyl (some of my greatest blessings call me grandma) it is $12

Make and Mingle

I was in the mood for a fun summer bag, so I downloaded a free pattern called Buttercup Bag. It's a fun little bag that is really easy to make!

I will have the pattern and instructions. You will need to bring:
  1. 1/2 yd for purse outside (pattern says 1 fat quarter, but I found I needed more)
  2. one fat quarter for inside lining (thin material is best)
  3. 1/4 YARD heavy interfacing
  4. magnetic snap
  5. 2 buttons (optional, but adorable) or a flower out of left over scraps, or a bow, or any bling you want to add to jazz up your bag!
***Bring a sewing machine and scissors if you have them***

Same time: 7:00pm
Same place: my house

see you there!

***Sas Fabric (1111 East Indian School Road, Phoenix, AZ) is a really great place to get cheap and adorable fabric. They will also have the Velcro for cheap. They might even have bean bag stuffing or foam that you could cut up***

When: May 13th
Where: My house
Time: 7:00pm

You will need:
  1. 3 yards of heavy fabric for the liner. I just bought mine at Wal-mart for $1 a yard. (Color doesn't matter, just make sure it is a thick fabric)
  2. You need an assortment of different fabrics that total 3 yards. You can do it all in one fabric OR 1 1/2 yards of 2 different fabrics  OR  3/4 yards of 4 different fabrics OR 17 inches of 5 different fabrics (make sure fabric is at least 45 " wide. If it is smaller, you will have to get more fabric than mentioned above)  ****Don't go smaller than 16" X 45" ****
  3. 30" of 3/4" Velcro.
  4. Matching thread
  5. A sewing machine and scissors (I have 2 machines, but if you have one, bring it.)
  6. Bean bag pellets. (200 liters of recycled polystyrene pellets or foam)
***Don't bring your bean bag stuffing. That is something you can do yourself at home! We'll just be cutting and sewing***
