So, I thought I would let you have a tour of my mind:) !?! Enter with Caution! So, this has been on my mind a lot and the jury is still out.
Is it safe to post pictures of my children on my craft blog? I have read and heard of so many stories of weirdos taking photos of someone else's child and pretending it is there own or posting uncomfortable comments about said child.
I have never been comfortable posting my kid's faces on the web. There have a been a few times where I did and I have this little thought in the back of my head wondering if I made a mistake. I know the projects look soooooooo much cuter with the silly grins and beautiful sparkling eyes of a child, but I still don't know if show casing my work is really that important.
Am I being over protective? Is it extreme!?! Or, is it worth it?
I don't know, but I do know I will still continue to edit out my kid's faces because quite frankly I don't want to take the chance.
What are your thoughts on this? No judgment one way or the other. Just wanted to know how other's feel about it.

I dunno... My family blog is public and I haven't ever really worried about it. But of course, the whole purpose of my blog IS to show their pictures to family and friends...
I know what you're saying... here are my two cents...
If someone wants to abuse a picture of my son, they are going to. This could be when I get the pictures printed (ala the movie "One Hour Photo") or it could be a photo one of my friends posts on Facebook (I'm careful about who I friend on Facebook, but I have friends who have over 500 connections on there), or it could be someone at the park who takes a picture, and he's in it.
It is not just on my blog... BUT I do have more control on my blog. So, to make the pictures less desirable to steal, I put my watermark over any faces of kids in my photos. This way, if someone wants a picture of a cute kid for whatever, they'd look at my photos and (hopefully) say, "Wow, that is a cute kid, but it is going to be a pain in the butt to photoshop that watermark off." And they move on, and find another photo.
Okay... that was more like $1.50, and not two cents... : )

Carolina you are a wonder! Thank you so much for that idea. I googled how to add a water mark onto my photo using photoshop and it was really easy. I will be taking this route from now on. I think my projects look cuter with those little faces shining through:)
