Wild Thing

"Wild thing, you make my heart sing, you make everything, groovy." This week end we celebrated a little wild thing. My friend is expecting her 1st baby (it's a boy). She's due in June. YEAH! So, let me take you on a tour of baby shower.
The theme was jungle/wild thing. So, Megan pulled through on decor. She made leaves, had balloons, used streamers to create vines, and I think it turned out perfect! When you first walk into the door this is what you see. My husband will NOT be playing the Wii when the party starts:) Notice the stand with the frame on it? Yep, I am reusing the sign from THIS baby shower.

We jazzed it up a big with some green confetti.

Balloons, leaves, streamers, can it get any better for a jungle!?! I think not.

I LOVE this sign Megan made. Isn't it adorable. That was a rhetorical question.

More streamers, leaves, and balloons. Tomorrow there will be food set up and the table will be filled with all supplies needed for decorating onesies!














The table was filled with supplies to decorate onesies. Paint, stenciles, fabric, heat n bond, a book full of ideas, and scissors.

Here is the amazing diaper cake the preggy momma's friend Heather made. I wanted to show it at all angles so you could see the goods she scored on this one;)

Here are the onesies that were created. I am still working on my superman onesie. I needed to let the paint dry before I added the second layer.

Here is a close up of some that I thought were really cute. The new-parents-to-be call the baby lizard. So this lizard onesie was perfect.

Transformer Birthday Bash

Here is the low down on my son's Transformer Birthday bash.


Invites.
I just googled photos of Transformers and found one I liked. Using Adobe Photoshop I added all the information. I printed it off on a 4X6 at Costco. Here is an example of what it looked like.

I went to Party City for supplies here is a break down of cost and what I got.
plates 8 for $2.3. I bought 2

napkins: 8 for $2.19

 party favors: I bought pencil sharpeners 12 for $2.99, pencils 8 for $2, tiny ruler with shapes 8 for 80 cents, coloring/activity book 8 for $3.92, bag to put it all in 8 for $2.99

table cloth $3.24. The total for everything was $22
I set that up on a table out side. (we forgot balloons, but that would have been really fun to attach a few balloons to the table).

 I got some transformer masks 12 for $2.99. These were a BIG hit.

We did a slip-n-slide, small kids pool, and STARTED (didn't finished it in time) to set up a trampoline. The kids had a lot of fun and it focused all their energy into something.

I placed an outdoor rug on the cement to prevent slipping and falling when they were running to the slide.















The boys eventually ended up underneath the trampoline with swords, guns, and masks. It was quite an adventure for them;)

Indoors we had a birthday sign. I won this one from a give away a while ago and I don't remember who it was from. If you are interested in getting one for your family, let me know and I will dig through my emails to find out where I got it.

Daddy drew this large birthday card and it was hanging from our ceiling.

My friend from Jesica's Cakes  made this cake for my son. I told her we needed a transformer cake and she did the rest! It turned out AMAZING! It was a huge success and my son LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVED the cake. Thanks Jesica.

Transformer Birthday Bash

I have been creating a Transformer Birthday Bash. Here is a little peak to wet your taste buds. I am on vacation right now, so pictures and a suprise are yet to come!

Baby Shower Bash

Guess what!!!!?!?!?!?????!?!!!!!! I am pregnant!!!!! I am 12 weeks along and due October 24th. I have had no morning sickness, just a HUGE appetite. Which leads me to believe it's a boy;)

Now, these past couple of days I have been getting ready for a baby shower I am throwing for my friend. Here is a glimpse into what I have done:)

For decorations, I tried to do things that the mom could take home and use in the nursery.
I made this from an old lamp shade. I cut off the bottom and strung the beads with fishing line. I added ribbon and tulle for a little extra sweetness. Total cost $2. Here's the break down: LAMP SHADE free, BEADS 90% off after Christmas sale at Michaels I don't remember the exact cost, TULLE 23 cents a yard at Sas Fabric, RIBBON 50 cents at Wal-mart after Christmas sale.

 I used more of that 50 cent ribbon to create this. I hung it on my front door with the baby-to-be's initials. I need to refinish my door!?! Please ignore that;)

 I made this frame hanger using THIS tutorial from How Does She.

When you first walked in I had this table set up with a sign that said, "Welcome! Thank you for coming. Pick a onesie off the line and create a design.

I set up my metal drying rack and hung the onesies from it. They are organized according to size to insure no duplicates.

I set up all the supplies they could possibly need. There was paint brushes, fabric paint, fabric, wonder bond, scissors, stencils, cardboard to stick between layers of onesie so there would be no bleeding through to the other side, and loads of ideas/inspiration for them. I just slapped this coloring book and a few pictures I had printed off my computer on the table too.

To set the mood, I placed these little colorful lanters around the top of my window.

Presents were placed on my son's train table. And I forgot to take a picture....sorry:(


Now the good part, the refreshments. I didn't want anything fancy or time consuming. Nor did I want any junk food that I would be left with so I stayed away from candy.

I made lemon frosty punch (my made up recipe).

There was also a raspberry trifle.

 Nothing fancy for plates, napkins, and silver wear. I used all disposable for easy clean up:) Cute little bucket for a little flash.

Here is the super amazing onesies! I will sew around the edges later.

I did the basket ball, moon, and Saturn. For the basket ball I just mixed some orange and brown together to make it look more like leather. The daddy plays basketball and LURVES the sport..so...he needed a basketball onesie for the future lil' dribbler:)

The preggy momma is a Canadian citizen so of COURSE she had to make the Canadian onesie!














On the bum she wrote:  In case you were wondering she doesn't say "eh" a lot.

Hubby watched the kiddos for me while I hosted the shower. Here is his reward.....

A double nose bleed from being kicked in the face. Poor babe. Recipes for the yummy food will come tomorrow!

Oh yeah, and APRIL FOOLS!!!! I am NOT pregnant although I look it. I am just fat;)

Wedding Bells

Well, here it is my friends, the long awaited wedding photos.

I took a photo of my outfit I made. I added some orange and gold jewelry and a red cardigan. I was going to make and wear a different necklace, but there was not time for that! (That will have to be another post)

Gorgeous!?! Yes I know.


Come....let me take you on a tour of the reception! When you walk to the door, hurricanes lined the walk way to set the romantic mood.
Here is a close up of the hurricanes. Sand in the bottom with a candle. Then fresh oranges and a few silk leaves surround the base.
You walk to an open door that has the bride and groom's initials hanging from wreath hooks.
When you walk into the room, to the left is the gift table (I didn't get a pic because it was just a table with a table cloth and presents stacked on it)
To the right there was a table draped with rich fabrics in cream and a burgundy. There is a TV playing a wedding video, a sign that says, " the (Couples Last Name) established 2009" with a center piece and a guest book. My little man wanted to be in the shot;)


A close up of the guest book shows a wonderful surprise. Each page has a different photo of the couple. This was my favorite picture because they are totally being themselves in this photo!


In that same room, the ring bearer (my little man) and the groom show their manly side!


I had hubby take a shot of the reception room! It looked so elegant. Please ignore the crazy person in the photo. She is not very photogenic.
A small entry way with shrubbery leads into this....a romantic oasis.














There was rich burgundy silks draped from the floors and across the ceiling, with strands of lights that created a soft glow.














The room ripples with the melodious sounds coming from a corner. There with a black folding screen sits a girl playing the harp.














To the immediate left of the harpist is the refreshment table. Set with fresh fruit, cranberries on a vine, and candles.


Look at these amazing deserts on a stick.


















A small glass container holds fresh flowers and suckers.... all in the wedding colors.


There are 3 of these center pieces. Fresh flowers and greenery in a glass vase with fresh oranges and cranberries in the bottom. Details people, details!


At the end of the refreshment table is the drinking fountain. It has a burgundy light. Just water with a hint of lemon is served. With all the rich desserts, I think this was a wise choice;)


















The table scapes were divine: fresh flowers, silk rose petals, candles, and a photo of the couple.
