Place-mat bag

One year ago, for Super Saturday, they made place-mat bags. I bought my place-mats at Cost Plus World Market, but never got around to finishing it. I wanted to add some pockets on the inside and make it bigger. So, I sewed 2 place-mats together instead of just one, added a liner, a magnetic closure, cute handles, and some bling on the front.
What do you think? I think I love how it turned out!

Here is the inside, I know it's hard to see, but there are 6 pockets for me to fill with all my girly things! Like tweezers.......(read this post)

I would like to introduce you to the fabulous Fawnda from Fireflies and Jellybeans. She is doing the post today! Enjoy. You can check my post out over at here blog!
Don't forget to enter my give away. Deadline is only 2 days away! And now, without further ado, I give you........ Fawnda!

Hello Therapeutic crafter! I am so excited to be swapping blogs with this fun blog! Brenda has some fun ideas- huh?!?

Let me introduce myself:

I'm Fawnda from Fireflies and JellyBeans, a little DIY craft blog I co-author with my best friend Jeannine!

Here is a little bit about me:
I am a SAHM (that is a stay-at-home-mom) to a son. I am married to most amazing man (sorry ladies- I found him first!) We adopted our son from Korea about 10 months ago! He is 19 months old and he is truly a joy and probably one of the cutest kids in the world (right along with yours!). I tutor High School Math students (Before I became a SAHM I was a math teacher).

I love to craft!

I rediscovered my sewing machine about 8 months ago and I love it! I also love to make cards. I am addicted to the scrapbook paper packs (They have a theme for everything! and I want them all! ) I am a pretty picky eater so I prefer to be the one who cooks!

My hobbies besides crafting include:

Reading - I just got done reading the twilight series and loved it! Some of my other favorite books are Harry Potter (all 7 of them!) The Time Travelers Wife, The Princess Bride (Yes it was a book before the movie!)
Watching movies- and than quoting them! Some of my favorite movies are: The Princess Bride, Mr and Mrs Smith, Ocean's 11, Pride and Prejudice
Talking on the phone- I love it... I know I am weird!
Hanging out with my girlfriends -Who doesn't love that?!?!

I just opened an etsy shop: Funky Joy
Where I sell reusable snack bags, lunch bags and Auto trash bags. I am always adding more stuff so be sure to check often!
Check out the snack bags here.

We have some great Halloween ideas for you!
How about dressing your whole family as pirates with this Thrifty Costume How To!

Or check out this Gum Under A Shoe easy costume idea!

You can make this Trick-Or-Treat Bag from a bandanna!

Here are some of my other favorite projects that I have done:
Fall leaf table runner

I don't just sell them, I also show you how to make them! (I am nice like that!)
Reusable Snack Bags
Same with the Snack bags... Probably not the best marketing plan but I would rather have friends than money! : ) (although- if you would like to buy one that would be great too! Friends AND money is the best!)

Be sure to stop by Fireflies and JellyBeans for some fun ideas!
Thanks Brenda for letting invade your blog today! It was so fun!

Halloween Decor

Here is a little view of a few more Halloween decorations I have up.

A spider on the lamp

2 scarecrows on my TV

A view of the room. My plates, on the wall!

A fall painting that isn't hung yet because I am not finished with it. Whooops!

Here is a view of the whole fire place.

I am still deciding what I want to do to the wood behind my shelf, but as for now, you get to see it like this! Nothing spectacular here, but it's all good!

I put a Halloween book on a book stand. Added some leafs and a grapevine pumpkin. Which I dressed up with some berries and metal leaves.

A Thank You Gift

2 weeks ago, I went over to a friend's house to borrow her surger. She let me surge the edges of all the stripes I used to make the ruffles on my pillows, 22 strips to be exact. I decided to make her a thank you gift. I noticed while I was there, that she had a plastic grocery bag hanging under the surger to catch the cut off. I came up with a diabolical plan to make this for her.

I just made it up on the fly. I made 3 pockets to hold scissors, seem riper, and a measuring stick. Then I made a larger pocket and put boning in the top to keep it open. This is to catch the scraps. I think she will like it!

Burp Cloth

I made some burp cloths for my sister. She is having a little boy in February. I have been busy sewing because I have to give her the presents at Christmas time so she has them when that sweet little man comes! I have made her a few things already, but I won't be able to post them until after she has them because I want them to be a surprise. So, here is a taste of what I have been doing!
The burp cloths are double sided. I like how they turned out!

Pillow Mania

I have finally finished my big pillows. Here is a sneak peak of my pillows. I have 2 smaller ones to make and then I will show you the WHOLE couch make over!

I made 2 of these ruffles pillows

and 2 of these sage green pillows. I found some currents at goodwill for $0.99 a panel and I made pillows out of them.

Baby Gifts

I have so many family members and friends that are pregnant right now. So, I have been making baby things lately.

I made these pacifier clips. Too cute! The girly one matches a hair bow I made.

I made some more flowers and a hair bow.

These sweet little clips were made from rose buds that I took apart. I got a close up of them, because I have fallen in love with them. They are perfect for a newborn and for little girls hair that is still coming in.

Last but not least, I put appliques on these blankets. A car and an airplane.

I haven't decided who gets what. I will probably let the family pick what they want and then give what is left over. Plus, there is still more to come, but I haven't finished all of my projects yet!

Baby Gift

My sister in law had a little girl in Sept. They named her Daisy. I haven't seen her yet, but am planning a little trip this week to Tucson to visit. I made these sweet little onesies for her. Her name inspired the designs;)

I did 3 ruffles on the butt too! So cute!

I added some bling to the onesies. Every girl needs some bling!

I also got a HUGE box full of flowers for $5 at a garage sale. So, I made a few flower clips for the Daisy and her 4 1/2 year old sister as well!

Busy Day

I went to Super Saturday. Here are the two art boards I made for my son and daughter. They can hang their art projects from it. It might be awhile before my girly girl is ready to display her own art. Until then, I will trace her growing feet and hands. See how crafty I am.

Super Saturday

Today was my church's Super Saturday. I made these! The Christmas one was harder to see, but it says "O Holy Night"

I can't decide if I like the ribbon tale or not. I need to play with it a little bit.

Halloween Plates

So, I know I am suppose to be on break, but I finally got these done. I am really excited about it! They look so cute!

Plates

Yes, another idea I stole from 'The decorating Goddess' (see THIS post if you are confused about who "The Decorating Goddess" is). I made these super cute Halloween plates! Yeah right!?! WRONG! They don't fit in my plate holder. Oh, MAN! So, I have to go buy some smaller plates and re-make them. Whoops;)
I am going to see if my mom or sisters want them. If they get a bigger plate hanger it would be perfect, well at least for them!

Pumpkin make over

I found these cute pumpkins at Target. They were orange, so I painted them cream. Then I painted the silhouettes of a witch and a black cat. I put the cloth underneath it, but decided it needed to looked a little more aged. So, I just put some acrylic paint on it and then rinsed it out! Puuuuuuuurfect!

I saw these at "The Decorating Goddess" house too!

Soft Decor

I was totally inspired by THIS center piece by Thrifty Decor Chick. I new it would look great in my guest bedroom. PLUS, I plan to use it for an up coming centerpiece at a baby shower! YEAH!

Hocus Pocus

Last night we had a "Girls Craft Night". A few women got together and made these super cute 'Hocus Pocus' blocks! I love it! Don't pay attention to the stuff behind them, I am still working on my Halloween decor;)
